A school pentathlon record for Jaivairia Bacote and a runner-up finish for the men's distance medley relay topped the bill Friday for HBU at the Howie Ryan Invitational at the University of Houston.

Daniel Shelton had a hand in two record-setting efforts and Taylor Thomas took bronze in the women's long jump Friday to lead HBU at the Texas A&M 13-Team Invitational.

Gabriela Busquet earned the first SLC Athlete of the Week award Wednesday after her 5,000-meters victory last Friday at the UH Indoor Opener.
