Jaivairia Bacote kicked off the 88th Texas Relays in grand fashion Thursday for HBU, winning her heat and smashing the school record in the 400-meter hurdles.

Shawn O'Brien set a school record in the javelin and Kierstin Santana was the top collegian in the 800 as the Huskies opened the 2015 outdoor campaign at the rain-shortened TSU Relays.

School records galore and a silver in the women's 800 capped off the final day of the Southland Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships Tuesday at the CrossPlex.

Taylor Thomas put her name in the record books Monday as HBU's first-ever Southland Conference track and field champion, winning the long jump with a school record on the opening day of the SLC Championships at the CrossPlex.

Two medalists from last year's conference meet will lead HBU into the first day of competition at the SLC Indoor Championships Monday at the CrossPlex in Birmingham.
